Toastmasters for ESL?

Someone recommended Toastmasters so I went to one club in my area. I was surprised that everyone there was native speakers who were already proficient in English and their problem was not English but way beyond that. They were also public speaking experts. I didn't understand 90% of what's been said in the meeting because of my English. Would it help me to attend such a thing where other members are way above my level both in English and in public speaking? I felt so intimidated and uncomfortable while I was there.

I've had a dull pain deep in my back on the left side, where I think my kidney is. The acid in the gfruit juice will probably make the dairy in the ice cream curdle, which is never a good thing. Ice cream isn't usually a tail ingredient, they are usually pretty simple. With what you have, I would do either the cherry sparkling water with the Triple Sec (two parts soda to one part TS) or do gfruit juice with the Triple Sec. With flavored liquor you want to keep it simple and use flavors that compliment each other.

Good question. My advice is to pick your school based on either its Business or Fashion program, not whether its a CSU or UC. My advice would be to shy away from Fresno for either Buisness or Fashion Merchandising. Think about the basis of either the Business or Fashion industry. Where is the axis of both industries located? The best place to look for fashion schools (and in turn jobs/internships) would definitely be LA or NY. For Business, you want to pick a school near a metropolis. Fresno isn't really known for pumping out Fashion or Business Exectives, unless you plan on getting into agricultural business, which is a very profitible business in that region of California.

My horse grew 3 inches taller in almost 4 months, weird?

Did you use a measuring tape or stick? For a real accurate answer I would use a stick opposed to a tape. I always get different answers with my measuring tape. My former TB mare though did grow when she was 4, she want from 16hh to 16.1hh so not a huge difference so yes she grew but not that much. I would double check or have someone help you. Your horse probably grew, just maybe not that much. But if she did, yay for you!!! I love big horses.

Dog vomiting and shaking head?

I have a 5 month old pit bull (american terrier) male. He is a wonderful dog, but He is sick. Before you say "GO TO THE VET!" I already KNOW that. But it is Sunday and I am in a rural area, so that is not possible. He is having some symptoms that COULD be parvo like but no bloody poo and it has been since friday night and the symptoms have stayed the same. And he is drinking LOTS of water, which dogs with parvo generally dont do, they usually dont eat or drink anything. He is still moving around, but slow and pitiful, his head is bobbling at random, like it will bobble for a few minutes and then stop. He keeps his head up as if when he lays it down he feels like puking. He is drooling excessively and and vomiting every drop that he takes in. He will not eat, I force fed chicken broth and gatorade with a bulb syringe, just to get him thru till I can go to the vet. I also have a shot of penicillin I am going to give him in the meantime. I am asking you to please dont be rude I have noticed that people on here get very judgemental and 'YOU shouldnt have a dog!" and all this other crap that I dont want to hear. i came hear for help, if your not going to give it then myob. thanks.

Love them both. The characters, the art, the music, and the storylines are amazing. Death Note is so short though. well, In number 1) the GnRH causes the release of FSH, not the way you wrote it there. (Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone stimulates the release of Follicle Stimulating Hormone, you have it backwards.) In number 2, LH doesn't stimulate the pituitary to release FSH, that's GnRH again. I'm not aware that testosterone stimulates more testosterone production...that's a positive-feedback loop and those are rare, but you may want to google it or look elsewhere. Hope it helps.

Why Are my Eyelids/Eyes burning?

For 3 months my eyes and eyelids have been swollen, burning, itching, and irritated. I have been to an optometrist and an ophthalmologist. I was given Lotemax (a steroid eye drop) and it cleared it up for about 2-3 weeks. Then, it came right back. The ophthalmologist told me to take my contacts out and use Pataday (an allergy eye drop), but the Pataday burns my eyes even more. It's painful! I am at my wits end! I have changed my soap, make-up remover, and all my eye make-up, but with no difference. I thought about getting Lasik so I wouldn't have to wear contacts, but I am not sure that would really help. Any advice?

How do you become a good friend to people when your too shy?

I met people some people that want to be friends with me but i'm scared to open up to them because they might judge me. They are pretty popular and I really don't have as much self esteem as them. But they are always telling people i'm their good friend. When they sit by me or try to talk to me I ge nervous and I don't say anything. I think i'm going to embarr myself. If they say something to me i'll mumble "yeah" or "ok". But i'm just not as loud as they are and outspoken as they are. I'm scared if do something I might do something stupid. So when they try to work with me or talk to me they end up thinking I dont like them and I have a bad attitude. Don't have a ba attitude. I'm just quiet and most of the time I just have a sad or mad look on my face like i'm depressed or have a bad attitude. I just have low self esteem and don't like talking to people or them getting close to me. I don't like looking at people in the face. I might look away when someone is talking to me and they think that I dont care about them or i'm having bad attitude and its not true. I just feel like they might say something mean or judge me so I stay quiet and have people thinking I don't like them. I don't think talking in front a group of people will help me, but how do I become a good friend to someone who wants to be friends with me?

Sick roommate in college?

Hello. I go to College, and leave for Winter Break on Monday at around noon. Just because I'm soo lucky....my roommate is not feeling well, and I seriously think he is getting sick. He is coughing a little bit, but the main problem seems to be a runny nose. Now, I truly do not want to get sick right before break. Two questions.....do you think I will get sick (I am taking Airborne and now washing my hands constantly and using hand sanitizer), and what else can I do not to get sick. Sacramento is the capitol of the state, but still not much doing there (can't believe the other answer never even heard of Sacramento! What kind of idiot doesn't know the name of the capitol of his state???)........ Inglewood and Reseda aren't the safest, nicest places to live either. San Gabriel is ok, but farther away from LA. Glendale and Sherman Oaks are the nicest places you have listed here, and close enough to the city & beaches....... Since you listed Sacramento, have you considered San Francisco?

Why does my hand warmer heat up without me snapping the metal disc?

Unsure of what to do?

I'm a really not that much of an outspoken person, but i've talked to my husband and he agrees, but we have a huge family on both sides, (my side there are 9 people and his side their are 7 people)(all are immediate family) and to me that just seems like too many people to come up to the hospital while i'm in labor and just too many people to come in the room right after i give birth, so i was just wanting my parents and his parents to be there the day of and have everyone else come the next day or something, i don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings or anything but its too overwhelming for me especially after something like that.... but my question is how do i tell everyone not come without stepping on toes or should i just call our parents and not call anyone else until the next day, please any help would be great. The problem with birth control is that you really do have to take it on time or it won't work. There are plenty of women out there who claim to have gotten pregnant on birth control. Usually, this is because they missed a day. So, that really is not in your favor. However, if you don't know what happened, it's hard to know. Chances are you're fine. As far as throwing up goes, morning sickness doesn't happen that quickly after becoming pregnant. You could be sick from something else. I like it. However, you are kind of drowning the reader in the sheer volume of your words; you describe everything so much that you leave nothing to the imagination. In fact, all of the description makes it a little bit hard for anyone reading this to wrap their head around it. It seems to me like you're matching every noun and verb with an adjective in order to be boring, but in doing this you make it more boring. For example, you say "My petite feet had green bits of gr on them. As I looked up at the azure sky, I immersed my slim body into the stream, turning my hair from a strawberry blond shade to auburn." You could do without the words petite and slim, as they make your main character seem both self-absorbed and narcissistic, and do not add much to the sentence.

i'm not sure what my case would be. it's been coming and going over the years since my early twenties. i am now 39. it usually occurs when i'm restless or having insomnia and trying to get to sleep. as soon as my eyes close for a few seconds, i suddenly feel paralyzed, can't move my arms or legs, can't breathe or speak. they seem to last a few seconds but it's such a horrible feeling. i wish my fiance would witness it so he could gently help me out of it. i am unable to open my eyes during these attacks also. the only thing that seems to help sounds rather bizarre, but i have to keep myself awake and by that i mean swinging my arm or leg over the edge of the bed. i have to keep one of my limbs moving and eventually i drift off to sleep. it sounds absurd, i know. somehow moving or shaking a limb until i fall asleep seems to stop the attacks. they are so terrifying. i feel like i'm dying when they occur. i went thru 2 years without one but they just started up recently once again. they come and go very sporatically. everyone i've tried to tell thinks i'm crazy or imagining it. that just makes me feel worse. these attacks are very frightening and very real. i sympathize with all of you who may have the same problem.

Gut feeling or depression? What to do?

Is there such a connection between depression and "falling out of love" or at least the feeling. I have depression and anxiety because of some semi traumatic family stuff that happened over Thanksgiving (or at least my psychiatrist concluded) I am seventeen and on Zoloft. I have developed this crazy anxiety over losing my boyfriend, or mainly even losing feeling for him. I get in these waves where most things with him are unsettling and unfamiliar, I dont feel ual, I am not interested in doing anything besides watching tv and I get really nervous, cant look him in the eye, and cant really have a conversation with him. I also get really nit picky. This makes me feel horrible, it is my worst fear, having this all not be real. But just as I start to believe it all, I just snap out of it and feel all of my love and am not too nit picky, I feel comfortable and close. Its not perfect but it feels like a real relationship, and I feel more grounded and such when I'm in a good place. Can depression do this, or am I simply falling out of love. We have been together for a year and a half, and this started around December, along with all of my other weird depression/anxiety feelings... any help?

In NYS, do I have the right to a refund for a gently used car repaired twice and purchased 3 weeks ago?

I bought it less than 3 weeks ago and it is now in its second round of repairs. First the gear panel stopped working (it moved in park, didn't accelerate in drive, and wouldn't go uphill) and the dealership took it in and told me an axle popped out and it was "repaired." I was still concerned because I read that it could also be a transmission issue. They took it back to appease me. After a day, they called to tell me they too didn't think it drove as smoothly as it should so they'd like to keep it a bit longer. It had less than 11,500 miles when purchased. The owner of the dealership is refusing a refund and if I understand the NYS lemon law correctly, he has 4 attempts of repair it before he HAS to return my money. But, at this point I do not feel safe driving it as a car with such low mileage should not have so many problems and I would like to not deal with this dealership at all. It was not until I became irate and aggressive that they even began to pay me any mind.

In BC , Canada ultrasound techs in hospitals are not allowed to tell you the of the baby. The urine was sent off for culture, and it showed no growth, and they asked me to come back and give another speciman and they would retest the urine. It came back positive for moderate amounts of blood, and trace amounts of leukocytes as well. I just dont understand what is going on with my body lol.

You need to have an ultrasound of the veins in your legs. This is the only way to determine if you have a blood clot. I would consider going to the ER. DVTs can be life threatening. If you can't get to the ER (which you SHOULD!) then call your PCP and have them send an order for the ultrasound to your local radiology clinic. The fact that you are having chest pains is worrisome. Please go get checked. Especially if the pain is accompanied by redness, swelling or warmth in the calf, pain when you flex your toes back toward your body, or difficulty extending your leg.

For English cl, I have to pick a book that was either written by a woman or features female characters in leading roles. When moving into a new apartment, did you ever find anything interesting left behind by the prev. renters?

The last tenants of my first apartment were being looked for by the police so they just up and left. the landlords cleaned, but not well and we found a drawer in the kitchen that had just gross junk and the cabinet in the bathroom had some dirty hairties and some sort of gross ointment or something. HELP! with an 4 year old that is acting out at daycare.?

Punishing him at home for something he did at school probably isn't very effective because his attention span is limited. He won't connect the two. The daycare teachers just need to continue to enforce discipline and it may just be a phase that he will grow out of. My son had a similar situation and after about 3 weeks he stopped being aggressive. It isn't polite and parents don't like it but it is normal behavior for a boy of his age. I'm sure your son isn't the only one who imitates this child. Your son doesn't act like this at home so I don't think that he is being led down the wrong path. School with my major or school with better reputation?

I'm trying to formulate the list of colleges I will apply to and I'm stumped. I want to attend a UC (university of California) school, but they do not offer the major I am looking for (education or liberal studies). The CSU schools (california state universities) do offer liberal studies as a major. Should I go to a CSU because they have my major, or go to a UC because I have worked hard in high school and have the gpa to get in? Damage. As a Warlock, Your role in instances is to damage and kill as much as possible. While soloing the Voidwalker might often prove most useful, but the Imp deals the most damage of other minions through his firebolt. You don't have to worry about aggro, if you are attacked then the tank isn't doing his job properly, holding aggro is his concern! So if the tank is holding aggro well enough as he should be, the imp will be the best for you as he deals the best damage, improving the contribution of your role.

I'd suggest that you either look in a book or draw a picture. Draw a wave coming in parallel to a coast that has a bay and headlands. The bay will have deeper water while the headlands has shallow water. The wave moves faster in deep water, and slower in shallow water. That means that the part of the wave near the headlands slows down, while the part near the bay moves faster. What does that do to the wave front? Right soo theres this really cute guy at my gym(I REALLY LIKE HIM) i have seen him around for about 7 months now but when i first joined and he was there i didn't actually think anything of him at all. but the last 2 months he was making eye contact with me and at first i didn't really notice but then i started liking him and yeah i was thinking in my head (what the hell becky you dont know him) soo afterwards we would be in the gym and in the mirror i can see him standing behind me and he always stands behind me, away from his friends, and when he was going he said by to his mates didn't look at anyone else but me then give me a little smile after that i didn't see him for weeks, and it was really stressful cos i wanted to see him so bad though im shy suddenly out of the blue a few weeks later he turns up with this mates, so i try and ignore him so i dont look dogey lol and when i got off the tredmil and i was walking out he just stared right into my eyes facing towards me with his head slightly tilted to one side. i didn't think anything of it at first but then i was thinking ''does he like me?'' the next day all his mates would be looking at me more than usual, they were all on the weights talking and the lad i like was really loud then when i walked in all his mates looked at the lad i like and he went really quiet and his mates would just generly look like they were up to something or knew something i didn't (i cant really explain it) and id be working out in the gym and in the mirror i can see him looking at me getting in my space from behind me. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of the manufacturer of a cornet i recently acquired. on the top of the bell, read correctly if you hold the bell facing left and the mouthpiece facing right, is stamped "BALDWIN", and below, in cursive, is "Special". on the 2nd valve casing, on the left side if you're playing it, and reading correctly if it's bell-up, is the serial number, "300880". also, on the leadpipe, on the right side if you're playing, is stamped "CR301". It was "Supplied by Phil Parker Ltd", as stamped on the underside of the bell, but there is hardly any info about them anyway, and I'd be more interested in Baldwin than Phil parker. My friend and his ex wife and law?

2 weeks ago my friend of more than 20 years him and his ex-girlfriend broke up . They have a daughter. He went to a Lawyer and asked what he should do. 1 was talk and resolve, 2. mediation 3. custody. Her immigration status is illegal. He told her this and he said she got furious. This is about his little girl and custody. A week later he was arrested for domestic violence. This was even without police involvement and proof. Im saying a week later. Well the hearing comes, there was a woman in the back handing all of the battered women notes. I know there are real cases, but it looked like he was guilty before he got in the courtroom. Im telling you the truth he didn't do anything to that woman. But she was a illegal mexican woman, trying to get back at him. She was coached to because I know this woman and she could not be this cool ever in her life, she was a hot head, but not in court. Through an interpreter, (she can speak english pretty good) made him like he was the worst person in the world. Found out woman in the back wrote police report for her. He lost the case because she was a pro for lying. He had to take a no contest plea and pay a fine so he would not be in real hot water. 2 weeks later found out the woman has been going to this same woman for counseling and paperwork came out. she was seeing this woman for a while. My friends ex was trying for a battered immigrant project on her first husband. What I am trying to say, If there are dvpo advocate grading judges and men have to go to anger management. Judges are tied even with proof, word against word. I know every case is different, but there ought to be someone for mens rights sitting right next to that woman in court. Like I said I know every case is different. The judge knew in my friend case she was lying, because he gets his 3 month old daughter Thur's every week. If he was a batter, he would have not gotten this. Is this game been going on for a long time and should their be someone sitting next to that woman in court for mens rights. The woman ought to go to anger management to i feel, because it take 2 to tango.
