Is there a period after an mot failure that you can drive around without a p if work is booked to be done?

My MOT runs out today and during the MOT test today, it failed on a wheel bearing. Unfortunately the garage cannot repair it today and it will take a few days for it to be done. Therefore i will have no MOT for few days, is it ok to drive as the repairs/retest are booked? Many Thanks....
