If generals and senior pentagon officials can publicly admit things are worsening in Iraq, why can't Bush?

This is irresponsible behavior on the part of the President. Abizaid and another commanding general (Pace?) already publicly stated that things in Baghdad are worsening and the situation is on the verge of civil war. Today, CBS news stated that another senior pentagon official stated that the situation is becoming more bleak. I am not anti war. I simply want our President to be honest with the American public instead of launching yet another public relations spin campaign like he has done within the past couple of days. This is irresponsible behavior to go against the ysis of commanding generals. And Rumsfeld is guilty of this too.
