Why is red hair hot on anime/manga characters but not on real guys (most of the time)?

I mean when you look at it Gaara Sasori( both Naruto) Ichigo (bleach) are all smokin' but who with red hair is hot in real life Rupert Grint I don't fricken think so why can't there be hot red head guys why?
