Leash-free in New Jersey?

I'm looking for places within a few hours drive of Princeton, NJ where I can hang out with my dog without a leash. I don't mean a dog park, more like a scenic place to walk with wide trails (to keep out of tick-infested brush) or a lake where my dog can swim. Does any place like this exist in NJ? Thanks!
